Permaculture Education Center, Mauritius
This education center is meant to host visitors and students wanting to learn about permaculture strategies and techniques on the tropical island of Mauritius. The design was a mentorship between Eléonore Todini and the owners, a couple of passionate permaculturists that want to bring back this ancient knowledge, also by planting forgotten tree species that once populated the island. Different functional elements were planned such as fish ponds, a planted parking-lot for shade, windbreaks, a ha-ha fence for keeping away undesired visits, vegetable growing beds, a food forest, a syntropic agroforestry system, composting stations, rainwater collection attached to the central building unit. The project started to be implemented in 2022, drone picture in the gallery on top of the page.
