Food forests surrounding private Villas in Florida – United States

Galt's Landing Private Villas Permaculture Gardens| Architects of Life | Based in France, Serving Globally

These two beautiful off-grid private family villas are located in the larger community project of Galt’s Landing. They are meant to host a balanced feeling of off-grid high standard quality, in a luxurious and abundant natural ecosystem providing food, water and energy. A curved pathway leading to the main house brings privacy and a larger planting perimeter. The low pollinator and edible garden standing in between the two houses gives a harmonious touch, while the dwarf food forest located up North the low gardens allows the sun to enter the taller food forest.
The West side of the land opens the view on a lake, where the stronger winds come from. A strategy was required to minimise the wind strength while still keeping the view on the lake. The most suitable choice was to plant a dwarf food forest on the central part, that could lift up the winds and still allow a good view of the lake.
A natural pool had been designed on the west side of the larger house, completed by a cold plunge and a hot tub, running with colloidal silver.
The hot tub and all the pool environment acts as a thermal mass, allowing sensitive plants like mangosteen and cacao to survive the frost hits of the winter (also in Florida).
